Women for Justice and Equality (WOJE), has over five (5) years of track record in community engagement through;
❖ Protection of women and girls against Sexual gender Based Violence through provision
of paralegal support, awareness, access to justice and documentation of cases of violence against women and girls.
❖ Policy advocacy through participation in the development and review of laws as well as advocating for the ratification of the Maputo protocol.
❖ Sexual reproductive health rights through sexuality education for young women, girls and boys in and out of school, HIV prevention programs and FGM prevention among communities through awareness creation, counselling and referrals for treatment enrolment and formation of support groups in communities.
❖ Monitoring of the implementation of the CEDAW through sensitization of communities about the CEDAW, submission of shadow reports to the UNSC e.g. To the 80th session on the absence of the family laws to protect women in families and
marriages.
❖ Promote the implementation of the SDGs especially the SDG 5 that focuses on women economic empowerment.
❖ Promote Peace building and peaceful coexistence in the communities through advocacy, community engagements, civic education and participate in the monitoring of the full implementation of the RARCSS.
