Women for Justice and Equality (WOJE) is a feminist advocacy organization working towards strengthening and advocating for the rights of women and in marginalized communities in the Republic of South Sudan. It grew out of a group of grassroots women, including survivors of GBV, harmful practices, women leaving with HIV and women migrants struggling with identity in 2016.

The organization is legally registered, as a National Non-Governmental organization with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission of the Republic of South Sudan under the Reg. No. 1972.

  • To protect and promote the rights of women at the grassroots by championing the advocacy for policy change, access to justice bridging the information gap between the Women at the grassroots and those in leadership to challenge the influence of anti- women rights agenda in South Sudan.
  • To bring out lived realities of traditional norms and practices affecting women and girls in their growth and participation in development in South Sudan.
  • To promote women economic empowerment through literacy education, livelihoods support and life skills trainings to Women and girls in the community.
  • To fight HIV, STIs and Sexual Reproductive Health and sexuality education.
  • Promote menstrual hygiene management (MHM) for girls and young women in and out of school
