Sabrin, an 18-year-old girl from Gurei North, Juba County and the leader of the adolescent girls at the Women's Girls' Friendly Space (WGFS) - WOJE, shares a message to all the girls in South Sudan during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
"The message to my fellow girls is that, they should go to school, attain careers of their interests and passion irrespective of their gender and no matter what the world throws at them."
Sabrin emphasizes the importance of education and pursuing one's dreams without letting gender stereotypes stand in the way. Her leadership role at WGFS has given her a platform to inspire and guide younger girls in her community.
She offers practical advice to her peers: "They should avoid bad peers and surround themselves with focused and positively minded friends. They should always seek guidance and have role models to inspire them and give them ambitions in achieving what their heart desires."
Her message concludes with a powerful reminder: "And finally, they should remember that they are able to do anything they want and it's only courage, positivity and giving themselves the chance."
Sabrin also extends her gratitude to WOJE for their work in helping and empowering women and girls in Gurei, and for creating a safe environment where young women can grow, learn, and lead.
